You will find our home placed between Trebbia valley and Luretta valley. Here, where Annibal’s troops camped in 218 a.c., it is difficult to imagine elephants, armour and a fierce battle between the Roman and Carthaginian troops…
Now, you can see vineyards, cultivated fields, hills and the winding river (Trebbia), that twists and turns for many kilometres, changing its color into emerald green, crossing the steep gorges of our mountains, to light blue, going through the plains. It is weird to image Annibale and his camps here … just around the corner ! But thanks to the unspoilt countryside, the silence and the rural calm, you can breath air both magical and evocative.
Giaciglio di Annibale is a small family reality, founded in 1935 by grandfather Emilio. The farm, the passion for the countryside and its products has been handed down generation by generation. Our land expands for nine hectar; the fields sorrounds the farmhouse. In 2012 the original farm building became an agritourism, where you can spend your holiday. Only the family work in the farm and in the fields. The main products are: fodder and grass once for our livestock and now to be sold; seasonal fruits produced by our small orchard that you can taste in the farm; vegetables grown in our allotment can be enjoyed raw and pickled in oil or used for tasty appetizers. Recently we started to grow medicinal and aromatic herbs (lavender, mint, marigold, nuts). In our farmhouse you will find typical local foods.
